SCOTTISH PARLIAMENT ELECTION

The Scottish Green Party slate of candidates for the South of Scotland election on May 1st.

Thank you very much, and congratulations, to the 15,062 people who succesfully voted Green in South, giving the Scottish Green Party the fifth of the seven Regional List votes in the south of Scotland. We look forward to working with, and for, everyone campaigning for social justice and a better environment in the South of Scotland.

Your Regional Scottish Green MSP is Chris Ballance, who can be contacted by

The Scottish parliament - the newest parliament in Europe - needs new politics. Polls predict the return of the same Lab/Lib government, but this time with a group of new, independent MSPs from smaller parties, representing those who have had no voice previously.

Scottish Green Party campaigns holistically for the quality of life - good food, good healthcare, good public transport, stable economy, social justice and a clean environment.

This website introduces some of our politics, candidates, how proportional representation will work to get an MSP elected to speak for the environment in southern Scotland. Please email us with your comments, or if you would like to be part of the campaign, or would just like more details.

A Green MSP for the South of Scotland will give environmental groups, campaigns and supporters across the region a voice in Scotland's parliament, with:

- Access to details of relevant proceedings in committees, and an environmental input into each bill

- Access to research back-up facilities of the MSP in parliament

- Opportunites for increased publicity locally and nationally.

Green Party members are active in campaigns for social justice across the world.
